A special concert and exhibition in Harbin with Maestro Martin Fischer-Dieskau
At the end of this month, Maestro Martin Fischer-Dieskau, son of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, will visit China to lead the Harbin Symphony Orchestra in a special concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of Wilhelm Furtwängler’s passing. The Wilhelm Furtwängler Society of China (WFSC) will organize a unique exhibition and symposium in collaboration with the orchestra on Sunday, 24 November. Renowned Furtwängler scholar and archive specialist Yi Xu, vice president of WFSC, along with artistic director and chief sound engineer Brian Wang, will represent WFSC at the event. They will participate in a lecture with Maestro Fischer-Dieskau, unveiling the immortal legacy of Furtwängler to music lovers around the world.
WFSC will also display part of its exquisite collection and historical material, including ultra-rare first edition LP sets, private master tapes, precious old concert programs, photographs, autographs, and more.
